  • Human Resources Administrative Assistant - Description

    The Human Resources Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department in areas of HRIS, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. This individual will input employee personal data into the HRIS database, maintain employee files, process various forms related to documenting Human Resources activities such as new hire, change of status, performance evaluations, benefits, terminations, etc. The HR Administrative Assistant will join Western's team of over 850 professionals and staff at Western's corporate headquarters in Orange, California and help support Western's 280-plus dental clinics across California, Arizona and Nevada.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide administrative support to the VP of Human Resources, HR Manager and other HR staff
    • Answer routine questions regarding personnel policies and procedures
    • Process employee verifications and State Disability Insurance (SDI) claims
    • Distribute department mail and maintain department calendar
    • File documents in employee personnel file or benefits file
    • Answer department phone calls, transfer/route incoming calls to appropriate individuals, and check department voice mails on a daily basis
    • Perform other duties as assigned 


    • A minimum of a High School Diploma; Bachelor's Degree preferred
    • Minimum of one year experience in professional administrative functions working in a professional office environment
    • Experience in Human Resources is highly desirable
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Organization skills, detail oriented and able to meet deadlines
    • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
    • Participate effectively in a collaborative team environment
    • Ability to interface with all levels of employees
    • High attention to detail and strong time management skills
